If the decal is applied on top of the paint you should be able to get it off with something like Goof-Off. If it's under the clear-coat then the job is much more involved. I think decal packages are available from some of the major mail-order supporting vendors.

Hi,
The decal was applied on top of the clear coat from the factory. 3M makes a product that will remove the existing decal. As 72LS1Vette said, many of our supporting vendors sell the decals, but they are rather expensive. Some CE owners have switched to having the hood stripe painted on rather than going with a replacement decal.
Good luck,
Tom

Try Phoenix Graphics.

http://www.phoenixgraphix.com/gm/1982cvt.htm

They have the hood decal listed at $350, complete kit $1200.

I've never seen their products but the prices are great and have really come down over the last few years on the CE.

I believe Phoenix was the original supplier for a lot of decal kits to GM over the years. I don't think you can go wrong with them.
