I am restoring a 1970 Big block convertible, I painted all the metal parts of the interior with KRYLON #1613 Semi Flat Black paint. Everything turned out very nice. I am in the process of replacing the convertible top, however I need to repaint the convertible top frame.

Question;
Should the convertible top frame be of the same color as the instrument cluster metal parts or should the bows be a gloss black?

Per the book "Corvette restoration guide 1968-1982" 70-72 top frames are painted semi-gloss black.

 

Krylon 1613 is a very close match to most trim on GM vehicles and it flows on very nice. I use it all of the time. You don't get that kind of quality in other rattle can paints.

 

Use the Krylon. Very nice paint.

 

I will use the Krylon.
