1979 won't start second time
Hi there, it has been a while since I have been here! In the meantime I have had lotsa work done on my 79 and I am just loving it.
For now, I am having either starter or alternator trouble or maybe both. At first the car would start once, then not start a second time. Eventually the battery died. I only know enough about alternators and batteries to "be dangerous" so that is why I am here.
Is there an easy way to diagnose which one it could be? I have heard of an alternator diagnose that involves removing a battery cable but am not sure how reliable that is.
I bought a new battery in December and something sucked the life out of it so I am having it recharged so I can determine what the issue is.

Please describe your start problem a little more. Is the starter turning OK? If so the you've got most probably a fuel or ignition problem.
The battery not staying charged is usually a different problem.
