The clear coat on my left fender is peeling. It is a Is there a way to stop it from getting worse until I can afford a paint job? I have so much I would rather do to my car before I do the paint.
Also, any recommendations for cleaning up the hood, the paint is starting to show signs of oxidizing but I'm not sure that's what it is.
There's a product called Liquid Glass that is great for older paint as well as new or clear, it's not a wax, but if you follow the directions you will be well satisified. This stuff is made for fiberglass cars and IMHO it is easier to use than wax. The first application may seem hard but the second and third are a breeze.
Just another thought, if that doesn't work you can always get the rattle-can clear coats from the auto parts store and spray over the top of it. This way it will create another barrier that will protect whats underneath from flaking off any further.
