Default vanacor glass.....

I have nonthing to say about ACI,cause they make great pieces, but they recently jacked my prices...WAY up there on some pices,so set up a account w/Vanacor.
I have seen mixed reviews on them....most good.I will say this...not to defend them, but to share "just how it is....."......if we both have org. cars...the chances of us unbolting our hoods, and swapping, acheiving a perfect fit.....not likely.Fiberglass flexes, and changes shape.
Vanacor has great prices,so any of you guys wanting to tackle the later C3 coupe to vert task,or L88 hoods, their custom ground effects, rear bumpers, etc. send me a pm w/what you are after.
I still offer the ACI pieces, and for thos of you wanting the org. style stuff.....I am still a dealer for Corvette Image.

I am glad I got my bumpers ordered over a week ago if you are placing a big order Monday

I am starting to wish I had orded two weeks ago because it seems as if delivery is about 2-3 weeks according to others I have talked to.

That's what they6 told me too, bud. She said that it would be 2-3 weeks out on the stuff.
That's a plus about ACI......everything I order...is in stock, and goes.I have seen Vanacor for many years, but haven't had alot of dealings w/them....just one,but it appears to be alot smaller operation, and I have no problem w/that...hell...I even like that better...as long as the pieces are okay, and the turn around time isn't too long.being a vendor, and having most my stuff drop shipped....I have gotten caught in the middle of pieces being back-ordered,etc.,and the customer is waitng, and unhappy w/me.And...they went thru me,so ultimately...I am responsible, but I did everything I was suppose to do on my end,and if the customer would have went to the supplier....they would still be waiting,AND....they would have paid more. That's a uncomfortable feeling when you are trying to run your own business, and keep everyone happy. It's fine being in the middle when everything is perfect, and smooth, but it sucks buffalo azz when the few times things don't go well, and I am in the middle.Ahhhh...the joys of being a business owner!

Just finished swapping my friends 66 small block for a 454 last month, he went with a vanacors big block hood cause it was the most reasonable price. The fit and quality I found to be really quite sad. I mean pretty bad in my opinion. He has the original nose on the car, but you can get a mack truck through those gaps around the 4 sides of the hood. The hood weighs maybe about 2 pounds. Its so thin and light you can clearly see the outline of the framing from the top off it. Not kiding, a blind man can notice it. I know its not GM quality but I mean come on............this paticular peice is just terrible. Now, having said that, 12 years ago I got one of their 1 peice noses and its fine. So who knows.

I have heard that about the hoods too.I am ordering a front clip from them later this morning, lower valance, inner fenders, and going to order a hood in to "just see".
On most the stuff.....I have heard great responses, but one the hoods...I have seen mixed. What sucks is they make hoods that noone else carries...the same w/alot of their parts.Their prices are great too.I shall see....
Thanks for your thoughts John.I am compiling my daily "things to do list" here in front of me,and you are on their at the TOP to get you pics of that 68 center console! Will be at you today! my friend...

i got the l88 highrise and it is plenty thick and i am very happy with the quality. the gaps are ok, as a matter of fact thay are about the same as stock. i figure with the age of the car and everything being a little off on most of these cars i would have to expect to do some work to get the gaps and alignment perfect. my aci front bumper was about 1/2" off on one side so their stuff is not any better fitting. the vanacor customer service was good. they told me the production date for the hood and the approx. shipping time and they were right on time with it. i could not beat the price either.

I hvae a Vanacor L88 hood and it fits my 69 perfectly.

Well there was a bit of a gap in the front passengerside corner, but the old hood was loose there too.

I like the light hood...

I block sanded the whole thing and there were a couple of low spots but they cleaned up pretty easy.

Dianne called me this morning to say my bumpers are ready!! They are not open on Sat. but she has offered to meet me at 9am to pick them up. Two week turn around isn't too bad.

I have Vanacor's rear deck and lid on my 81 and I am very pleased with it. I will report on the bumpers soon.

I PM'd you a while back (Vettebydesign) about 'glas for my 72. I ended up going with J&D Corvette because I saved a bunch with shipping. Have you dealt with them? They were super nice and their product was very good (at least to my untrained eye!).

they custom made my L88 scoop, raised there tall scoop and added some mounting tabs for me. Great people to work with, they called me back to ask a couple questions on how I wanted the scoop cut, after talking with them they just sent the hole hood skin and I cut it to fit myself. Great people to work with, they wanted nothing but to do a good job for me and custom build what I wanted. Hope you have as good of luck as I did with them. Its hard dealing with the public and trying to please everyone.
