Hey! That truly was a rare car.....until it got painted! Now if they can just strip off all of that paint....except for the original primer.....they might have something.

Ok, maybe not rare from a classic/original view but rare being the only one. But even rare doesn't mean a thing if no one wants something.
According to the Black Book at least one documented case of a "SPEC" primered car left the factory but others could exist. But the code was SPEC, not SPC (see ebay pic of tag) from what I have seen.

You hit the nail right on the head. Rare, by definition, means that they are hard to find. This doesn't translate to desirable or valuable. A great example is the three speed manual transmission. Rare and for a good reason. No one wanted it.

Will this type of very rare option ever carry over to value? I don't very much at all IMO
