Hi David,
I assume you're talking about a copper radiator? Is the tag on the passenger's side tank? The MK could be the broadcast code ( is it embossed? ) used by the worker on the line to identify the proper part to put on the car. Some times there's a part number stamped on the same tag. I need to search a little to find something about the '9'.
Regards,
Alan

Hey Alan , Yes this is a copper radiator. The tag which was clipped to the radiator tank on the right side about even with the COLD FILL line did have the MK9 stamped into it.
