Default 72 wiper switch

Got my 72 LT-1 out for the first drive of the spring, and just my luck it started to rain. The wipers sometimes are a little touchy, and today they would turn on, but not off. When I got home, I decided to check the switch, and removed the two screws that attach the switch housing to the dash. When I turned the ignition on, I got nothing. Then I inadvertantly touched the housing to the radio ****, and the wipers started. Is the switch grounded through the housing, or do I have a bad ground somewhere?

The switch grounds through the housing when it's mounted.

i installed a new wiper switch and found that the housing would not allow it to slide all the way over to the left "off" position. i used a dremel to notch the housing where the slide lever (that holds the ****) was hitting it.
