Has anyone ever sold there car on the fourm and sent it overseas? I sold my 68 on the fourm to a member overseas and we used Paypal for the payment. Well paypal called me to ck on the transaction. They told me that I have no seller protection due to the unconfirmed adress. They also told me that because he used a credit card he of anyreason file a claim with them and get is money back from Paypal.
Now I have no reason to belive that he would do that but Im worried that Im going to end up with out my car and money.
yes... paypal is terrible like that. There is so much buyer protection and buyer bull**** that all a user has to do is make a claim and all the money is his.... If he says its not as described he keeps both... it took me forever just to get a measley 70 back from a guy who did this to me. He said i had no info on him and if i liked i could come get it myself or he wasent paying.... paypal said it was his right.
So i google street viewed his house and dent him a pic of his own home with his dog out front and the route to his local pd... needless to say i got my money back that week
since this is the third timethis has happened i have no longer used paypal they can screw you in every way
Lost 140.00 to some guy...Paypal has his phone and address but won't give it too me because of privacy and of course they just close the case because he doens't have money in his account to pay me (of course not..he's opened other paypal accounts to keep the scamming going). Paypal make s$$ of the transaction so why should they help.......they suck..but are the only game in town.
It would be a lenghty process for paypal to do that. They don't just take money....wish they did some times.

they just took money from me when there was no cash in my account.... made it -150 then called a collection agency on me without me knowing. I no choice but to pay it or it would hurt my credit. I never deal with them anymore its terrible id never risk my c3
I would not ship overseas under those circumstances. Find a way to get a non refundable payment. If you can't make it completly secure than don't do it.
If he's honest and really wants the car then he will find a way to make sure the payment is secure. If he does not want to do a secure setup then you know he's not to be trusted.
No way should you use PayPal for a transaction of this type. Wire transfer to your account that can be verified by you and your bank as good/legit before you ship the car and ownership documents.
Better a potential buyer be pi**ed than you losing your car. If the buyer wants your car bad enough he will ACCEPT your terms.
I don't know that this sounds legit! I would contact Paypal and see if they contacted you. This sounds off to me. I try not to deal with them. Way too many scams associated with them for my liking.
There are many other options for money transfered that are 100% secure, for your protection as well as the buyers.
I use Paypal to buy and sale on Ebay. I don't ship overseas anymore. I had to repay $600 in buyer payments because there is no protection from Paypal when shipping overseas (confirmed or unconfirmed).
It is way too late to worry about it. These are the questions you should have asked before you accepted Paypal. The best you can do right now is to hope the buyer is honest and completes the transaction without a hitch.
Selling overseas is very tricky. You need to know what you are doing or not do it at all.

I don't agree. He can easily just send the money back to the buyer via paypal and do the transaction another way. He is NOT required to ship the car just yet. There's no way I would ship that car after getting a payment through paypal.

Pay Pal is in real trouble , Google Pay pal class action suit.. I read that and I took my money out.. They rip you off anyway they can..Also I would never sell a car unless it's bank Wire transfer..Even in the USA Too many frauds out there. Some of the fake cks. fool even the banks. Even though a Bank will release the money to you in 4-5 days it takes up to 30 days or more to realy clear. if they discover it to be fake you lose everything money and car and they have a 35 day head start..
You made the right decision to refund the money. There are a couple of ways to proceed but I would suggest you contact your bank for a recommendation. I would try the wire transfer route before trying an escrow service. My past experience with an escrow service was that I paid the escrow service for an item and then the seller had to send me the item. Then I had a set number of days to let the escrow service know that I received the item and was happy with it. Then they released the money to the seller. My problem with that is what if I had lied or told them that it wasn't what I was supposed to be buying? The seller could have gotten screwed still.
Talk to your bank or require the buyer to wire transfer you the money.
