I believe you need to make sure you get it with the dipstick on the correct side. I have a chrome oil pan on mine and the dipstick is on the driver's side. I think there's a notch there for it if i remember correctly.
Be careful with aftermarket replacement chrome oil pans. I don't know if the newer ones fit any better than older models that were prone to leaks. Also, the oil pan baffle in some aftermerket pans may not be adequate for hard turns, braking and accleration. Check all this out before installing or you may regret the purchase.
The stock pan can be dressed up just fine. Hammer out big dents and fill in low spots with JB Weld until level. After the pan has dents leveled, prime and paint. It will look good as new.
