Question here, How hard is it to fake the details and engine stamps that would have togo along with said paperwork. With todays technology isn't there way to tell the original stamps/castings from doctored work?

Well, I don't know what the rest of you are going to do about this, but I am going to order a set that says my 1976 is really a 1969. I plan to glue on some metal bumpers with epoxy after I get the documents and then sell my car to some fool with more money than brains, for big bucks, at one of those big -time car auctions.
Seriously, this kind of crap should be against the law.
Time and time again I have seen threads discounting the worth or validity of our Corvettes if original documentation is not available and included. All I can do is shake my head and feel sorry for all those short sighted corvette buyers who insist that without documentation, the car is worth a fraction of it's potential. This just reinforces my belief that it is one hell of allot easier to forge documentation than the time, cost and effort it takes to reconstruct a clone. A disciplined assessment by a knowledgeable expert holds much more weight. IMHO. One has to evaluate all available evidence to make an informed decision. To me nothing beats a list of all previous owners and contact info.
As I said once before in another thread the only origional is a true survivor the minute you change one part it is not "origional" anymore. There are so many frauds out there and they are good you can not tell the difference. A good machinest can match any groove pattern.

Yeah but how will we know that you didn't drop the tank and instal the sticker then reassemble for the video of the find? Maybe we could make a video of pulling a tank sticker and sell it on ebay for $200.
