Help!! 81 Vette Wiring nightmare
Sorry to for desperate plea.
I bought an 81 vette that has a fuse problem. The instrument cluster fuse (gage fuse) goes out. My neighbor and I:
We've taken the center console apart -
We've taken half the steering wheel apart.
My neighbor and I pulled the fuse box - and traced many of the wires trying to find the problem. A resetting fuse has been a big help.
HERE's THE BIG PROBLEM - We bolted the Fuse box back into the firewall - and now the vette won't start. It gets gas and spark - but won't run.
On top of that we haven’t found the blown fuse (we thing it's a pink wire with a black stripe.
Anyone out there had this nightmare before and has some advice?

Here is a diagram for the CTSY light circuit, it doesn't do thru the steering column at all. The most common failure points are the interior light timer which is an orange box behind the passenger side dash, or the cigarette lighter, it gets grounded on the floor pan sometimes. Also look for a bubba add-on in the console, also pretty common.
