im thinking that it would be best if a ran a roll bar in my vette. any one else have one in there car? pics, what did you mount it to. i have an idea but want some other ideas to play with.
I bought a 71 roadster last summer as a project car. It was purpose built as an autocross car and had a roll bar in it when I purchased it. There were holes cut in the fiberglass just behind the seats over the framerails and then another set about 18 inches further back. the tubes were welded directly to the frame and the body was glassed in around the tubes to seal the openings. I am thinking about changing it up a bit as I build the car back into street worthy condition.
was looking through the jegs catalog (not for a roll bar) and found a 4,8,10 and 12 point roll cages from 129-269$ made for 63-83 vettes. i think ill go with the 8 point for 152$
Here's my cage.. It used to be just a 6-point roll bar but I had it converted to a NHRA certified (to 8.50) cage..
As far as I know, my '68 Vert is the only C3 Vert that has a 8.50 certified roll cage that allows full operation of the convertible top (even though the top is not on the car right now)..
