I want to remove my clock and have it cleaned by a jewlers (it works but does 'hang' and somtimes even stops until I move the set).
How do I get at it. I know I must remove the center metal bezel, but how do I do this? I removed the Phillips head screws but it still didn't want to move.
Please be very careful removing the bezel. Don't pry on it and don't force it out. Looking at the pic in the other post, you can see that the sides narrow to a very small section. I've seen too many of these bezels sold on eBay that are broken off at that location.

Screws along both the drivers side and passenger side dashes; top screw to upper dash, and the nuts on the studs holding the center console to its' reinforcement below the radio
If it just needs cleaned there is no reason to send it in to have it cleaned.I have done 4 in the past 6 months and all of them are still working fine.
Here is a link, follow the directions and your clock will be working fine again. http://members.aol.com/jjneyjr/clock/grepair2.htm
I have also sent this to some other forum members who have told me their clocks are working great now.
FYI: A 9volt radio bat will operate the clock so you can test it before re-installing.Touch one bat post to the threaded stud on the back of the clock and the other to the case.
Take it to the Jewler Dont send it off my guy has a 12 battery he uses to power it he cleans it powers it and makes it work for two yrs or so but never use oil of any type.
