interior panels

on a 72 with deluxe interior i am replacing the woodgrain ,i don;t know if i should peel the old panels off or just go over them ,they are in good shape just the color is off i frecieved new replacement panels from corvette america yesterday and they have double sided tape ,but not the tin backing the originals have

I think you will get a better bonding surface if you remove the old ones. I'm doing the same thing ... but haven't installed my new ones yet.

I removed the original panel before placing on the new one. One word of caution, be there to wipe up any excess glue before it sets.
