Anyone have a cure for pitting Alum. Valve Covers?
I've been blessed with a pair of 72 LT1 valve covers that I'm going to put on soon. The left is great! The right one has some pitting on the top flange. Pretty bad too. I wanted to know if there was something that could be done about it. Anyone cross this path before?
I know powder coating might be the answer, if so, who does it?

Burning Brakes
My father has some 70 LT-1 valve covers, he cleaned them up, repainted the lines, and then sprayed several coats of clear coat on them to keep then from oxidizing and to make them easy to clean up.

You might look for some kind of aluminum-filled epoxy that you can fill the pits with. Since they are bare aluminum any way, it shouldn't be all that noticable. You might check the following web site as a possibility:
