'74 drivers' side window did not go up.Removed door panel, pulled 2-wire connector at motor-useing test light have power to 1 of the wires with switch up/no power with switch down.Other wire have power with switch down/no power with switch up.
So I'm assuming that one wire is for up and other wire is for down, and the ground is obtained through the housing to door.Took the motor out,and all the tracking and regulator, only to see that the motor works fine when I attached a jumper from each terminal to + side of battery and held the housing against - side of battery.
Should I be looking at the switch itself,or wires coming through the door (?),as I am aware a test light really does'nt give much of a load.
Plug the connector back in the motor and ground the motor and try it with the switch now that it is out of the door.If it works now it could have been a bad spot in the armature or the motor could have been bound up.
I tried that-even with the new motor I got for it/does the same. The motor works if I jumper wire it to a battery and ground the housing to the battery.I even ran a jumper (ground wire) to the door itself-same.
