Default Corvette Central????

Purchased a new top for my 72 from Corvette Central. Was pleasantly surprised when it arrived, it was an Al Knoch product. Now I really thought I had something, especially when I heard all the good things about Al Knoch's quality. Had it installed and within 2 weeks the seal at the bottom of the rear window is letting loose, about 4.5 inches long.
Called Corvette Central on Monday this week. Talked with Dave in product assistance. Followed his procedure and emailed him pictures and a copy of the invoice.
Tuesday, I receive an email saying they were working with the vendor to rectify the problem. It's now Thursday and I've heard nothing, not a thing. On the back page of their catalog it states "Our primary product is your satisfaction". It also states, If a problem should arise, "we know how to help". Ya Right.
I also am involved with Customer Service to our customers and believe me, we would never leave a customer hang for 4 days.
So now I question the ethics of Corvette Central and the quality of Al Knoch products. I've got a sneaky feeling someone is ignoring me and my situation. Bet this will cost me some bucks.
Guys and Gals, beware of both of these providers. Needles to say, I am not happy.

Not that your looking for it but here's my advice.

I haven't had any problems with any of the suppliers, but people have bad mouthed them all. Eckler's, VPB, etc. Suppliers goals is to sell you something. To get your money into their pocket. If I've had problems, I usually try and treat people with respect and I get what I need. My guess is these are tough times, and the internet has made buying things very informal. Truth of the matter, we don't really no who we are trully dealing with. Same with ebay. What I do before buying on ebay is send an email and see if the response is timely and satifactory. We are in control until you hand over the money. Then you find out who is really on the other end. Good luck.

I live nearby and have toured their shop. I have bought a bunch of parts from them over the years and have had great customer service. Try and talk to this person's supervisor and gently explain the situation.
I hope they live up to my previous good dealings. Good luck!

If you heard from them Tuesday and it's only Thursday, that's not that long. You're dealing with two companies. One of them needs to eat the cost, so they probably have red tape to go through to ensure everything is squared away. If they go quiet on you after a week, then get nervous. It's summer, key people may be on vacation, who knows. It's only been two days.

Tuesday to Thursday is less than 2 days, come on! give them some time and they'll sort it out. I had nothing but good service from CorvetteCentral.

I still buy most of my parts there. Very satisfied.

Al Knoch on interior items, though. At the truck at shows.

Not sure about your math, but Tuesday to Thursday sounds like 2 days, not 4. Could you possibly be any more impatient?

I'm so sick of these bashing posts from unrealistic newbie customers. CC and AK have been around forever with endless loyal customers and you question their ethics? "Beware of both?" Please.

I have used Corvette Central 6 times and their product and service have been spot on. Shipping time to Australia is quite a bit longer than yours but that is not their fault. Give them a break you don't know when you have had it so good.

I think he was counting since Monday when the initial call was made.

Anyway, if you haven't attempted to follow up with them since Tuesday, you can't blame them for ignoring you. Send an e-mail or give them a call...I'm sure someone will explain to you what's going on and if there's any delay.

Sometimes it's just too easy to jump on a forum and start questioning people’s ethics, etc..... Anyways while you were posting this, I’ll explain what we were doing to rectify your problem.

We are Corvette Hobbyist as well, and don't like when our customers have a problem. So first let me apologize for the issue with the top. We appreciate you sending the pictures as we requested. Our technical department has reviewed the pictures and we had a lengthy discussion about it. We decided to go back to the manufacture to discuss a resolution with them. We forwarded your pictures to them to review. We followed up with them to discover that Al Knoch himself wanted your contact information as he was planning to call you directly as he has further questions. Unfortunately this issue isn't one that could be resolved in 2-3 days, but we'll continue to work with you until it is resolved.

Hopefully you don't have any future issues with products, but if you do please call us before venting on the forum.

Dan

Thank you for the information. Please understand, this is not a bashing, it's my impression of the experience I'm having. IF someone would have contacted me with the information you've just passed on, I would have been fine.
Also, I called your customer service this morning and the individual I dealt with had no information for me at all. I was told the people who are working on this are out today. She did say I would hear something Monday and we left it at that.
With out sounding harsh, I am trying to keep the communicaton door open. A more informative email on Tuesday would have made a big difference.

In your first post you say "Guys and Gals, beware of both these providers. Needles(sic) to say, I'm not happy."
In your second post you say "Please understand, this is not bashing". You don't think that first statement was bashing? You went off like a loose cannon because you didn't get your problem resolved instantly and you hadn't been contacted in nearly two whole days? I don't know what you do for a living in Sheboygan, WI, but you have to realize that other people have put a lot of time and effort into building a business reputation that spoiled brats like you trash in a hot second during a childish temper tantrum. You aint the center of the universe.

You will not get service better than the contents of this post from any vendors than these two. Also, most of the softtops sold for Vettes are originally manufactured by 'Al Knoch Interior's'

It is great to see vendors here on the forum. These are the vendors that I am very happy to deal with. And over the past 8 years, I must have purchased at least 100 shares in Corvette Central. One of my last purchases was $4000 +. I have their banner on my website and one of these days I am going to hit them up for advertising fees

I've purchased TONS of stuff from CC. One problem in over ten years, and they fixed it, no questions, "just send it back and a replacement is going out today..." I have nothing but Kudos for CC

Never worked with Al Knoch, but always heard good things, nothing negative.

I am a Sales manager, and sometimes I take a day off, so sometimes my customers who need to speak with me may have to wait a bit. When your dealing through a company who is dealing with another company, sometimes it takes a little longer, especially if there is a time difference (East coast, West coast etc.). I usually let my customers know if there is going to be a delay in responding to them, just me, but as a customer working with a supplier (I used to be a buyer too!) I usually ask for a time line for resolution. Good communications from both sides usually equals happy customers and buyers.
