These are the numbers I got off the side of my ring gear: 1 17 80DANA D 30060 A3D108 43-14. Can anyone tell me what rear I got?
Plus, I got the snap rings off the side shafts but am unable to get them out. I have filed the outer edge because it was all chewed up, but they only move out about 3/8 of an inch until the splined edge gets even with the edge of the gear it supposed to go through. Thank you for any help.
I believe you have a Dana differential and a ring gear with 43 teeth and a pinion with 14. That would make a ratio of 3.07 which was the ratio for 1980. The first 3 numbers are the date - Jan 17, 1980. Regarding the axle stubs, you will need to clean the burrs off the ends to get them through the axle gears. Sometimes it doesn't take much to keep them from coming through.
