Default Alarm Module

Can anyone tell me where the alarm module is located on a 1976 Corvette? I just put in a new battery and the alarm goes off when I attach the battery cable. I snipped the wire to the alarm but the Vette will not start. I was told to either remove the module or reset it and until doing that the Vette will not start. Can anyone help?

Thank you

I believe the relay is in the passenger side rear compartment. Remove the box and feel along the front face for wires. I think my '75 has 2 relays in there, one being the alarm.

What wire did you snip and where exactly was it?The stock alarm is not connected to the starting system.
