I am looking to replace my rear bumber emblem and I am having trouble locating one that looks like the one that I removed. Mine has three pins that go into a predetermined slot in the bumper. The bumper was an add on by the previous owner and is not a 74 but maybe a 75. It looks like all the rear corvette emblems are separate letters rather than the script writing that is on my car. Does anyone know what year the script "Corvette" was used with three stick pins? And where can I find it?
76 was a one piece.......Can you post a pic of your old one?
... the "early '76" version was one piece, but smaller and the bumper cover was recessed for it. Later '76 to '79 rear bumper covers had the same size one piece three pin emblem with no recess in the rear bumper. I believe this rear bumper cover is still available from GM that I last knew of. I've seen a lot of '74 to early '76 Corvettes that at some time in the past have had this later bumper installed. An original rear '75 bumper looks like this...
Are those letters in your '75 pics recessed? I have a '76 to '79 emblem on the back of my 75 so I have always assumed somewhere along the way the bumper was replaced.
I have a very early '75 roadster and the letters are set into the mold and separated...my friends '76 has a one piece script of "Corvette" on his bumper....hope that helps?
