How do I clean the bare cushions on my 78 vet?

The foam is kind of like a sponge...maybe hot soapy water and a wet vac? If the foam is off the seat frame...maybe wash it out at a sink with hot soapy water, ring out, and let dry.

How is the foam? it looses some of it's structure over the years, as do the springs, depending on millage. Thought of maybe going with the Fiero seat upgrade? it can be done for about 500 if you get the vinyl seat covers and get a set of donors for under 200. C.
