Default Door latch Question
One minute it's latching the next it's not. Removed and cleaned the 40 years of gunk . Next I lubed it with white grease and it seem to operate very smoothly, could not see any malfuctions yet it still will not latch, any ideas? Thanks Brad

Check the striker bolt on the door jamb. If the sleeve on the shaft is loose, or if the whole striker bolt is loose, you'll want to replace it. That sleeve needs to be tight fitting.
