There were usually provisions to purchase tires from all major manufacturers for GM vehicles. That way they could force competition between then to get the best prices. If one was more expensive than the others, they just didn't buy them. My guess is that the '76s were available with Goodyears, Goodrich's, and Firestones (but I can't prove it).

...1973 to 1977 Corvettes came with either Goodyear "SteelGard" Radials OR Firestone "500" Steel Belted Radials. Both brands of tires were available three ways. Blackwall, Narrow White Stripe or White Letter, size GR70-15.
No White Stripe for '77 though.
