Are you sure???
You can buy this hood aftermarket. I've considered it.
ACI and Vanacor both sell one with a 1 1/2" rise over stock and I saw one elsewhere (didn't save the site as the rise was too much for me) that had like a 5" rise identical to yours.

I'm almost positive (but I have been wrong before) the rise started at 3 inches at the windshield and went to about 5 1/2 inches trying to stay with the curve of the fenders. The sides of the scoop are almost vertical, the after market hoods I've seen have more of a angle to the sides.
When they are finished the raised area should be about 3 to 4 inches from front to back.

He took about 1 3/4 inches out of the height.
1 more inch will be just about right on the opening.

AS FOR THE HOOD MAYBE YOU CAN MAKE THE NEW HOLE FUNCTIONAL WHEN YOU HIT THE GAS
