Default Hood modifacation

I dropped my 80 off at the paint shop this morning, I am going to have him modify the hood. We have two different opinions on how to open up the front of the hood. I am going to lower the scoop as low as I can just enough to clear the breather. The hood will have about a 3 inch rise.
I want to open the front up to get the ZO6 look but not sure what would look the best. I tried to make a sketch of what I am thinking. Opinions please.

I like the 1st and 2nd designs. Could they not angle the opening in the 2nd design?

Good luck with it.

I say leave it alone.
If you do change it, I'd say #3.

#1 looks like a welder's helmet.
#2 looks incomplete too.

Personally, I think the smooth triangular design on the front of the original hood is the best feature of the hood.

That same hood in about a 3 inch rise instead of the 5 or 6 it now has would be perfect. I'd leave the front slope alone.

Here's what I did. Screens under the openings. Fiberglass airbox seals to cowl induction air cleaner.

if you want the Z06 look why not use a the exact Z06 air scoop and mount it in the valance in front of the hood and leave the hood alone I think that would look killer.

I'm surprised so many say leave it alone.
What about this, just a small opening at the base of the hood I doctored this picture up trying to see what it would look like.

I love the idea but it would take lots of money!

Here is first pass, they were going to open it up to where the green tape is. I told them to just open it about 1 inch larger than it is now.

He took about 1 3/4 inches out of the height.

Forgive my ignorance, but is this hood a custom fabrication or is it an available aftermarket part? I like it as in the first pics.

with the hood lowered like you have it now, the 1st opening may not be that bad. With it lowered, you may not have the height that you drew out on your drawings.

Beautiful paint job, and I like how it looks with the opening. Maybe you could match the shape of those two openings in the bumper- angling the sides in.. for more visual symmetry. Just a thought.

It is a stock hood that had been modified.
