So I've seen numerous threads of a similar vein. So I read the search outcomes, and did some investigation and correction. Guess what? Still having problems.
Thought it was heat soak. Tried a shield. No Change. Then, duh, if it were heat soak I wouldn't be starting it with my trusty Snap-on large screwdriver. Shhh, don't tell!
Anyway, I replaced the fusible links as well. No go.
Finally, I checked for a signal at the s-terminal when it wouldn't start. None.
There is a relay on top of the A/C box in the firewall. Is it some sort of interlock relay? Thought I saw someone mention that in one of the posts, but am tired of doing the same search over and over.
Am hoping it's not in the column. Don't want to mess there. What color are the wires if in fact that is the relay I'm thinking about?

Yes it would start if it was heat soak with the trusty screw driver. I used to carry a large screw driver with me in the early 80s on my 70 Camaro for just that reason. Got me started many a late night with this. The purple wire from the ignition switch goes through the neutral switch on the auto cars and the clutch switch on manual cars. It should go right from there to the starter. On all my cars there has not been any relay and I'm not aware of any on the 75 cars but Bubba may have gotten to yours.
Shows what I know about 75 cars. What is the interlock for?
