Greetings from Nebraska. Since I'm a nube to the forum as well as wanting to get my first 'vette, I'm looking for any advice you experienced owners have. I have some basic mech. knowledge, but not much in the way of body/frame/etc. experience.
Basically, what should I be looking for in a first 'vette? And what pitfalls to be aware of. Thanks for the help.
Hi Papa,
My advice would be to get a book that has good pictures and information about the many years and styles of Corvettes. Also, get an up to date book or magazine that has the values of Corvettes in various condition. These two books will help you narrow down what you like and also what your budget will allow you to like.
There are lots of Corvettes on E-Bay to look at and crazy low, middle and high prices.
Lastly, see if you can find a Corvette Club in your area. This will give you people to talk to, learn from, and have fun with.
Regards,
Alan
Thanks for the great information. I do have a 'black book' from 1953 - 2007, and a friend in the Cornhusker Corvette Club that will be getting me a condition/price guide mentioned. Those 10 things to look for are really good. Thanks again, and here's to great driving.
