Im pretty sure that my pass. side window motor is dead , and i was wondering if anybody can give me some insight on what is the best way to replace it and were i can get a reasonably priced one from.
My window is in the down position right now , so i was wondering if it can be forced up enough so that i can get my hand in there and also do i have to worry about the regulator coil spring since im just replacing the motor ?
Not sure what corvette you have. I had a similiar problem with a c5, but it wasn't the motor. Best way to test it out, is open your door panel, and you should be able to see how you can first remove the glass. Than look under your, to see for bolts, you should fine 2 of them, remove the bolt so u can remove the frame that the motor is sitting on, run 12 volt into the motor and if it moves .. than it not your motor..., if it does not move than its your motor.. check on ebay for used one,, or check with your local salvage auto parts... good luck
I am not sure how similar the 77 is to a 78 but I just did my drivers door on my S/A... It was not to hard...
Are you sure it is the motor and not just the switch? The window switches in the 78 can get hot when the window mechanics are not working properly and I had two switches come apart (not melt), the bottom of the switch separated from the actual switch body & then nothing worked when the button was rocked... Once I put a fresh motor in the window & cleaned 30 years of grease off the tracks, it works great...
