I measured with a string and had an auto parts store lookup the item needed, it looked like a pretty good match, but it's a few inches to short.. can someone here tell me the correct part # for dayco belts I have 15330.. it's for a 74 vette 350
Just looked at my 75s thanks for making me look it is so loose I turned it by hand to get A Number 5365 AV6925.One year earlier but maybe you can go off of one of those #s .I get most of my stuff from AutoZone.
Your string method measures at the bottom of the 'V' in the pulleys; belt lengths are measured by the length of the outside (flat area) of the belt. You would be closer to use a fabric tape measure to wrap around one edge of the pulleys. [Sorry, I don't have the measurement you need.]
Most likely a Dayco 15365. That would cross reference to Lon Wayne's 5365. The way the numbers work is 15 is 15/32" wide; 365 is 36 1/2" long.
That's the size on all 4 of mine, 78s and 79s, but likely the same.
NAPA had the ability to look up the belts for my '75. But I had to be careful the pulley for an A/C car is bigger than a non-A/C car so those belts are longer. When he first looked he almost didn't ask and then I would have wound up with a belt 2-3 inches larger than I needed.
