So, does it come off quickly and easily? If you drove to a show, could you take it off easily enough before the car was displayed? Then put it back on for the drive home?

It comes off in two minutes via two Allen head screws. I'm not concerned about shows; this is not a show car. Just rain and getting the Haartz canvas top up.

Good to hear from you BTW. No interest in my 1967....

Seems super-functional, then. I'm always holding onto my hat with one hand...

I was under the impression the '67 went off on ebay? Seemed you were real close at the end there. Sometimes the market is unexplainable.

I was close on a price but the potential buyer was a moron. Wanted to know why the bonding strips were not showing through the paint, etc. I explained the very careful restoration paint job that was done in 2005 for a "few" dollars. Nope, he wanted to see bonding strips. I told him to find a C2 with a MAACO paint job. And to check if the masking tape around the door handles had been removed. I will sell my 1967 ONLY to a Corvette enthusiast with knowledge. And appreciation for what a fine vehicle this is.

Good for you. I had similar conversations when I sold my split window. The right deal will happen.

I've pretty much given up selling it in 2008. It's in the Province of Ontario AutoTrader now. Not one call. The market has tanked for Corvettes. Even for pristine ones.

I saw something on the NCRS Tech Board today that was very disturbing; not for me but others in the hobby. GM has stopped producing some critical parts (e.g. electronics from ECM to brake sensors, etc.) for C4s and even some C5s. They are very heavily dependent on corrosion-sensitive parts. And they are no plans for repro people to step in. If you own a C4 or C5 watch out! You think a C4 or C5 is a bargain???? Thing again, and again. But drop by NAPA and still get your points and condensor. About $25.00 for a C2 or an early C3.

You can have a conversation with your passenger and listen to the radio at a reasonable volume level when travelling with the windjammer.

Good investment !!!!

Salute

I picked one up last fall off a fellow member. Finally put it on this morning. What a difference! Hardly any wind noise or turbulence in the cockpit on my 79! Very nice!
Stilll ended up with wind blown hair though!

Yes, it fits very well. Any small irregularities are taken care of by a soft rubber gasket.

You lost me with that question. The last T-stat I bought was at Canadian Tire and it was made in Israel. Figure that one out! Still works well.

Brett,
Well OK. I have many ancient threads on this Forum, both C3 and C2. I don't remember the Stant T-stat. But if I bought one it worked well. As does the one from CTC.

This is a pic of my 1974 and (former) 1979 from two weeks ago. Would you believe it was painted in 2000 with DuPont Chroma Premier. It still looks great! What is on my 1974 I have no idea but it is ...OK...

I picked up some bad 89 gas from ESSO late last week. They must have water in their tanks this time of year. Messes up my idle. but the car still runs. I'm going to burn it off tomorrow at highway speed with some isopropyl alcohol and then get some PetroCan (Sunoco) 94. This happened back in June as well. Bloody annoying.

I follow your travels with more than a little envy, I've put more miles on this year than the last 8 combined but few (if any) have been to such interesting or nice locals as where you've been.

Only running the p-can 94 myself, car really doesn't seem to like anything else. (wish I left the compression back at 8.5 grumble grumble)
Carb still needs some work, seriously thinking of sending it to Lars next winter for a total exorcism.

Otherwise everything seems to be working well (which makes last winters work seem worth it)
All the best
