Well it runs drives and stops. Thats a good thing right? I had the alinement done on Wed. I have to say that the upper control arms from Vette Brakes do what they say. I was able to get a full 5 degrees of caster in front. Needless to say I was very pleased.
I have not takin it out on the road yet. After the alinement I took it right to my shop so we could start doing the finish work. I need to put the windshield in during the week and block the car one more time. If not next weekend maybe the following I can get her painted.
For now here is a pic of the engine compartment all done. It dose sound good and I can't wait to drive it but I'm going to paint it first. Next pics I post she should be painted and looking like the Owens Corning car.
I am still waiting for you to get it done so we can take some pics!!!
You got to take me for a ride when that car is done.
I felt your pain on this car, since we compared similar notes, but your fun is about to begin. I am happy for you.(somebody has to be happy for us after these builds )

Stan.
I installed the ft. springs you told me about and they where perfect. I need to pickup some int. parts in Carlisle. It looks like it's down hill from here. It's 5 AM and I'm on my way to my shop to start blocking. OH BOY. The shop is alittle slow right now so I may be able to work on it during the week. I would love to have it in the booth for Fri. Wish me luck.
The motor sounds real good and mean. All I did so far was set a base timing. I have no idea what this thing is going to want for jet and timing. Thats why I want it painted and put together before I drive it. It's going to need some good test drives and I'm not going to give the cops around here anything more to bitch about than maybe me making a few full passes. Well off to start sanding. I'll see you in PA in a few weeks. Brian G.

5 AM???? You couldnt pay me enough money to get up at 5 AM
I am glad the spring situation worked out well. I definately wish you luck on getting the car in the booth soon Now you are at my favorite part of a build. Seeing all your hard work come alive with paint.
I didnt take my car on the street until it was painted and put together either.
I did however repaint the parking lot of my shop with rubber from my tires
Your two cars are an inspiration. Someday I will make my 69 into a Vintage racer clone. Until then I can only drool. Would love to see both cars in person someday, and Stan, you will be painting mine.
You need to get rid of the heavy fan. Heavy fans don't change rpm very fast. So burning belt has to take up the change in rpm on all up and down shifting.
I've always wondered about caster settings. Stock parts can be set to nearly 4.0 So is going to 5 that much better?
