Default Headlight door jams

On my 69 one of the headlight doors won't open. I know its not the vacuum actuator because I can only raise it by hand about 2 inches. Then the back edge of the door binds against the body. It seems the door is sitting a little low and too close to the body at the back edge, and binds up. So I loosened the mounts at the pivot and adjusted the door as far up and forward as possible but it still won't open.

Anyone out there have any experience with this?

The head light support bar bonded to the body may be pulling away from the body and that could be why it's sitting low. Check to see if it's separated.

Yeah... when I first got my '76 the right door rubbed the back so hard it wore a place into the 'glass just behind it. Took about twice as long to open and close as the left.

My valence bar (headlight support) had rusted so bad it had swelled up and pushed the door into the body.
