Not sure on your 70, but on my 81 you remove the speaker panels in the rear corners. Then if you reach down in the open area you can feel the nuts.

You need to pull the carpeting up in the very rear of the storage compartment (assuming this is a coupe). I pulled my passenger seat to get easy access to them as I am 6 feet tall. You should be able to feel the tips of the body bolts and spray them.

There is a cage surrounding a square nut riveted into the body which the body mount bolt fastens to. When I tried to remove mine with an impact, I ended up breaking the cage off on one side and had to use a right angle air die grinder to cut it off.

Have fun and be patient.

There is no #5. #4 is the farthest one back located in the little cubby hole under the carpet, next to the aft bulkhead.

Be patient with me, I got out two in the radiator support , two that I reached through the side vent hole. Two I got at behind the kick panels. Now the two in the front of the rear wheel house I don't see how to spray the threads. Are they accessed from inside the car? And behind the rear wheel are two that I guess are in a cage that is riveted to the fiberglass.

Vent(cowl0 body mounts:#1.
Kick panels, #2.
Rear wheel house, [B]behind the little access panel[/Bin front of the rear wheels inside the Q-panel], #3.
Behind and above the rear wheels, #4.

there are several other places the body does attach or go through to the frame--front/rear bumpers, grounds, column, etc.

The #3's you'll have to try to spray the threads from underneath the car. Removal of the wheel well access plate only allows access to the bolt head.

Left (driver) side body mounts on a '76.

No.1 in the engine bay near the front fender vent with the bolt head and nut both visible:

No.2 bolt head behind the kick panel trim at the front of the door and a captive nut on the chassis:

No.3 bolt head accessed through a hole in front of the rear wheel behind a cover plate (and probably covered in body seal), with a captive nut on the chassis:

No.4 behind the rear wheel with a captive nut under the carpet in the back corner of the interior and the bolt head exposed in the wheel well:

To answer your question, I don't know how you'd lubricate the no.3 threads because you can't get to the bolt shaft from above and you can't see the captive nut on the chassis when the body is on. This is what it looks like with the body off though:

I suspect that simply drenching the chassis in that area with penetrating lube is the only thing to do.

I am sorry. I did you give directions for the far rear mounts. The #3 mounts in front of the rear tires are pretty hard to lubricate. As you can see from the previoius post pictures, the #3 mounts have a welded cage holding a square nut. If you are lucky, the bolt will come undone and the square nut will not "round" off. I was not so lucky, so out with the right angle die grinder.

I have seen some people cut the fiberglass "flap" which covers the endcap of the frame allowing them to use a sawzall, but that is the easy way out. Again, be patient.

Thanks guys. Ok I get the rear one from the interior. Great pic with body off. looks like the weld nut is on top of the frame in the cage. I wonder if I can spray it from the inner side of the frame above the brake lines. Or does the body drop down on the inside. I will look when I go back to my shop. That frame is looking good BenUK!
