My car was parked out in the main part of the garage today and my daughter was out there with some of her friends. One of the boys (around 6 or 7) said "Who's car is that?!"
My daughter: It's my dad's
Kid: That's a COOL CAR!!
The kid probably had no idea that it was a vette, nor any appreciation for how old it was or anything. he just knew it was a cool car.
when I was leaving Teakwondo one night one of the fathers stoped me and wanted to know about the vette so whyle we were talking his daughter walked up (12-14) and he asked her "this is a pretty cool car huh?" as she scrunched up her face she said "not really"
that kid is going nowhere...
cool story though! its nice to get a completely unbiased oppinion!

I get lots of compliments. Surprisingly a lot of people that used to own a Vette themselves and say they will own one again. In my neighborhood there is an elementary school, and if I happen to drive by when school is in I can usually see the kids outside all looking over and waving and saying "Hi."
We were sitting in a sonic drive-in one afternoon, when a SUV pulled up. A 8 year old boy climbed out of the back window before his mother could even get the car stopped all the way. He ran over to the vette yelling at the top of his lungs "ITS A STINGRAY". All his mom could do was yell "Don't touch it." Cant help but laugh when ever I think about it.
The very first time my son and I took the 72 out after getting it running we took a slow cruise around the neighborhood. Pulled up to a stop sign and across the street there was a boy about 5 years old waving to us. It was great to get the wave the first time out.
Kids love these cars, and they always just stop and stare. I guess it just looks so different then anything else on the street that it really attracts their attention.

Yup. And they know a nice design when they see one. Even though they're not even "pre-teens" yet!
i still member the my first glimpse.. turnin at a light.. i think my dad thought i was gonna jump outta the truck! anyways, i didnt, but guess whats in the garage now!!!!
I was at a big Vette show tonight and there was this kid that was maybe 5 and I thought he was gonna die. There were a million vettes, sometimes up to 15 in a row, and he'd run up to EVERY SINGLE ONE and scream at the top of his lungs "COOL CORVETTE!"
, they look the best of all the c3's (wow im going to get a lot of hate mail for that) they look..well...right, like that's how a vette should look. there only flaw is they did not have a option for a big block. what's so great about having chrome bumpers? oooo, ahhh, B.F.D.
edit
if you where wondering, B.F.D. - short for big f'en deal.

Well, I guess to each his own. I too love the 80-82 model, especially for the front. However, regarding C3's, I think the straight back window is the coolest. Combine this with a chrome bumper and the best balanced out back, and we've got a winner ;-)
But in the end I love them all ... My dad just bought a 76. Beautiful car!
Back on topic. Last week I was cruising and this little kid also waved and was signalling me to put the pedal to the metal, so he could enjoy the great V8 roar Anyway, I get lot's of waves from kids, it's awesome...
