My wife and I drove our Corvette to church last Sunday morning. A yellow C5 convertable with a black top was at the near end of the short row and our dark blue metallic '80 was at the other end of the row.

Family with a few young kids walked by the yellow C5 towards our '80. As they got close to our '80, the 8-10 year old girl pointed at ours and said with certainty, "Now ttthhhere's a Corvette."

Comment like that from kids really make me smile.

I'm not so sure that one is that much better than another to the point of where you get to stand on top of the hill all by yourself. They're all cool and I can appreciate each one for different reasons. It's funny though cause I'm a "chrome lover: by nature and think that the Mustang, Camaro & other muscle cars looked worse as they swapped chrome for plastic with newer models but when it comes to the Vette design this doesn't apply in my book. I think it looks great and classic with the chrome bumpers but in all honesthy when you put a '68 next to an '82 they just both look awesome to me. I wouldn't change either a bit.

I have to agree - all the refinement is in the 79-82 vettes. Longer lower front-end (breaths better) and the built in spoiler on the tail, now what can be cooler then looking at the profile of a late model C3 - not to mention a better interior?

I love one of the episodes of stargate SG1, where they go back in time and a C3 passes by. Colonel Jack O'Neill say's "They never should have changed that car" priceless ;-)

Even the runt of the litter (1974) is a pretty car.

the 75 is the runt fo the litter. no big block, a low HP rating of 165 and a high of 205, at least the 74 can go from 195-270!

and Im not too sure about the 80-82 being the greatest

but I'm not picky, I have an appreciation and love for all vette's. If I had the money, I would own at least one from every generation. I would love my rubber bumper cars as much as I would love my chrome bumper ones.

Hey, i'm stuck in the middle (litterally, with a '73), but a '69 LT1, If that was a part of jessica Simpsons body, well, lets just say it would be covered- To stop wide spread panic!!!

ANY C3 is awesome... IMO.
I drive an 1980(l-82)

Back to thread, I was driving my Vette last weekend and a few teenagers crossed the street and as I passed by them I hear one say "Now THAT'S a car!" put a smile on my face...

one of my fave things to do is take my vette to my nephews little league game. At the end of the game the parents throw a picnic for the kids. I bring the vette quite alot to these events, I think by now each kid on the team (and a few from opposing teams) have gotten a ride around the block, gotten to sit in the drivers seat, crane their necks to look over the dash and make vroom vroom sounds while pretending to saw back and forth on the steering wheel.

Every one of these boys thinks the corvette is the shiznit

I went out to eat with a few friends on last week. I had my Stingray (in need of paint) parked in between my friends custom trucks. While we were eating folks kept coming up and talking to me about the vette. My buddies couldn't understand.
