Thanks GPGG70. I had them on for a while then took them off. Since then I have seen a few with them on and began to wonder.

The reason I knew this was I wanted to know if my 70 was supposed to have them or not as well.: I like them and think they set off the floor, and give the interior the 70's look back in the days when trim was in.
The SS trim was part of the deluxe interior option. From 68-72 there was gas pedal SS trim. Then from 68-79 there was SS trim on the brake or clutch pedal. Things change - I have a '70 with standard interior and it has the SS trim on the brake pedal and gas pedal. My '75 with deluxe interior has the SS trim on the brake pedal only. They key here is deluxe or standard interior but, who knows what mods were really made.

This statement above is the reason that had me wondering back when about my trim on the pedal/brake (auto) no clutch. I had read that if the interior was the deluxe then the trim would be on the pedals and my vette does not have the deluxe interior. So who knows.
I also thought that the PO may have changed them out but I talked to him and he said he hadnt.
The pedal trim is one of those things that could easily have been installed incorrectly at the factory. I can envision the "pedal guy" putting trim on all of the pedals just so he didn't have to look at the build sheet.
Exactly the "pedal guy" could have done it, or if you don't have it they could have run out of stock that day (seriously from what I have heard/read things were added/deleted as the assembly line went along - a good example is my "late" June 1975 has the drain tubes in the back of the car but nothing else as astro ventilation was phased out in late '75.

Well, crap, I wish the "heads and intake" guy would have given me the LS7 heads and intake!
I got fried on flea bay by buying a 3 pedal stainless steel kit. The clutch & brake ones fit fine, The gas pedal one is for a camaro, nova, etc!!!!!!!!!!!! My 73 came with the small gas pedal. Anyone have one laying around?

I don't think they ever made one for the small pedal. I've looked at a lot of Corvettes and none of the small pedals had stainless trim.
By the way, the gas pedal trim piece you got was for a 1968-71.
Hello Clifford,
I added the S/S trim on the gas pedal and brake of my '72 because I liked it, however got pinged when it was NCRS judged. It's not original.
