I was at Advance Auto yesterday and asked for the rebuilt kit for the stock 63 amp alt. for a '75 coupe. The parts counter person mentioned they had it with the pulley. I mentioned I wasn't interested in a new pulley, but wanted the standard kit which I was hoping may included the voltage regulator etc. and they told me they didn't have any listing for it. Has anyone ever bought one at Advance and possibly have the part number. I mention Advance since they are the closest to where I'm staying at present.
I'm in the U.S. for another two days and mail order won't help since I'll be gone before it arrives. Shipping to Canada means I have to deal with brokerage fees and Canadian taxes. It's not feasible for me. I was hoping to get it locally while I'm still here. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

Thanks for the link skl230red, is that the exact part number I would need since it would be much easier to go in with that copy and say, hey...can I have one of these?

Not exactly sure, I found it by using a '75 350 Corvette vehicle choice on their website. I'm sure the parts store could confirm the part number for your particular car if you called them.

Local auto stores won't have "kit", per se.... But they might carry the diode set and brushes as individual repair items. Unless there is some serious bushing/bearing wear in your unit, the diodes and brushes should do the job for you.
Thanks to both slk230red and 7T1vette for the reply, since I'm in the US at present it only makes sense to purchase them where the parts prices are cheaper before I head back to Canada
