I noticed in the pictures the car has a clock, My 81 has a Oil Temp gauge in that location and that was how all 1981 shipped that year...

Not sure if that is the correct center gauge console for a 1981 vette...

Many times these aftermarket companies worked with dealers so the dealer took the order had the car drop shipped to a fabricator for a convertible top, a stretch, a sunroof, a padded vynl top, RR grille, or anything they could sell or someone would buy.
I know for a fact that there were several companies in the early '80s that would cut the roof off of a brand new Camaro and install a convertible top. The cars were sold by the dealerships and drop shipped from the factory to the conversion company, but GM had nothing to do with it.
