I was thinking about putting AMERICAN RACING TORQUE THRUST "D" on my 80 corvette, I was wonder if anyone has them on a Vette My year and if they would post a pic so I could see what they look like. thank you
I believe I've got Ds on my '76. The spokes do run close to the calipers (just a couple of mm clearance) but they do work. 8" wide, 4" backspacing, I think.
This photo doesn't make the rear window obvious so perhaps it's useful.
thats perfect I ment pretty much any Vette from 1968 - 1982 so I could see what they looked like on that shape of vette so the back window is not that big a deal. I wish my vette had that back end cuz I like it better
I tried Torq Thrust Ds on my '71, but they interfered with the calipers. I ended up putting on Halibrand 5-spokes. There was no interference with the calipers.
I have Torque Thrust D's on my 69.
15X4.5 on the front & 15X10 on the back.
I don't remember the backspacing on the front, but the back was 3.75 in. I needed longer studs front & rear (3/8ths I think).
The rear needed 1/4" spacers & the fronts needed 510 thousanths.
I had to have the fronts made at a machine shop. (20 bucks each)
I love these wheels on my car, but knowing what I know now, I would have gone with Vintage Wheel Works. They need NO Spacers & the price is very, very close.
