power steering went out
My Power Steering went out on my 76 yesterday. Smoke everywhere in the rear view mirror. Pulled over and it all dumped out. Any ideas what parts I'll need or where to start?

Find the leak first. Did a rubber line rupture? Maybe a pressure line or the return line? One of the connections at the assist valve?
I would suggest jacking up the front of the car, put it on jack stands, and clean everything off with brake cleaner. Get it all clean, refill the power steering pump reservoir, and look for any drips or failing components.
If you can't see any drips or ruptured hoses or blown seals, then start the engine and get back down to watch for fluid.
You should get a clear idea of where it's coming from.
