1974 front bumper
I have been told 2 different stories about the 1974.
1) that all c3 will fit
2) That 1974 is different than all and only 1974 will work.
If there is a difference what is it. and can I get another year to fit
I just got this car and I am trying to put it back together with the proper year specific parts.

I don't know who is "telling" you this stuff as both versions are wrong (sure hope they didn't "tell" you the car had matching numbers) but '73 and '74 fit only.
Just look at any group of pictures... the '73-'74 cars have a straight seam line across the front of the car. the '75-up cars have an slight upward (towards the windshield) contour at the center.

I replaced my front bumper with the 73-74 Trueflex fiberglass from Wilcox (Toledo Pro). A little work and it fit good.
