Default 1982 C3 engine colour

Can anyone confirm the engine colour for my car? I think it should be blue but cannot find a picture to give me an idea of the correct shade. Having just had a rebore and acid wash the current colour is black/rusty brown which is the same as when it arrived. There aren't too many C3s in my part of Australia to check but I want to keep it as close to original as possible.

It's blue, GM 221 Blue.

According to my 1982 NCRS Technical Manual "all Corvette engines were painted blue UNTIL around mid 1982 production. From around the 21,000 serial number range and above Chevrolet started painting their engines black in preperation for all the 1983 Chevrolet engine being painted black" (Page 88 & 89)

My "Corvette Restoration Guide 1968-1982" says all 78-81 engines were "Corporate Blue" and most 1982's. Beginning in approximately August 1982, engine color was changed to black. So it will depend on your build date.
