This is the car that inspired me to buy my Corvette. I was at SEMA in '94, saw the poster and thought, "That's what I want." At the time I was considering Porsche 911 or 928S4. I'm sure you'll all agree I made the right choice.
That's not what he said, he said, "It started out Monaco Orange and BF Goodrich decided to paint it blue" He then said it toured the US and ended up in Hawaii for 5 years then wound up in California and thats when he got the car.
He never said it was red and he returned it to blue? I don't see how you heard him say "He" returned it to blue it sounds like it has been blue since BF Goodrich did the car?
actually... sorry... this is kind of a petty argument... the narrator in the video says..
"painted red.... I believe " indicating that he wasn't quite sure if the car was painted red or not before it was restored to it's condition as the BFG blue promotional vette... but really, who cares?
cant get that vettester site to work.. will try again later. Really curious about that blue.
I don't know if this would work, but it should get you close? Why not take the poster have the color scanned and then have the paint made for you?
Could be an idea, but the printed color is often different than the real one... I send an email to jsimpson@coresco.com to require the poster but it returned back to me as an error
Years back I was at a GG show in Pleasanton CA. I stopped at the BFG display and asked about that beautiful poster car. He pointed towards his right. There she was. There was no way my beat 68 BB roadster would ever have paint that good or be that straight. Well, 20 years and 8 grand later, I have it. In can be done.

and I quote..................
"Hi Nick,
Good hearing from you. Never check out the forum. Just checked it out. Funny to hear all the speculation! Go to youtube.com, do a search BF Goodrich Corvette you will see me with the car at NCRS in Orlando. Also check out Vettester.com go to Vettester videos, then choose BFG Poster car and enjoy. Tells the true story. It will be in Vette magazine with me in a few months, keep your eyes open. You are correct about the red, guy who bought it from BFG painted it Arena red, Porsche color. I brought it back to the correct blue. Car is now restored to exact condition as poster.
Regards,
Frank"
i also talked to frank today ,i called him he said as stated the car was monaco orange when new,the owner lent it to bfgoodrich, they wound up buying the car ,they had it painted blue at huntinton street rods in califofnia, they don;t remember the paint code, it was campained for years then sold to someone who painted it a shade of porsche red, after a while it was sold again and that is when frank bought it , he returned it to the same shade of blue it was painted ,using a door hindge to get the color, he stated that it appears to be a early mustang mach 1 color, he also said that it was going to be a feature car in corvette fever or vette vues mag, i also told him about the forum and he said altho he just heard about it he has never had a chance to check it out but will , i am glad i got to talk to him today as he is very busy with his work that he was able to spend some time talking to me on the phone about his car
From: Graceland in a Not Correctly Restored Stingray
I've got that same poster framed and hung in my garage (an a blue wall, no less). I've always thought it might very well be the Porsche Nassau Blue on this Lola T332C (old photo has some color shift). Another possibility is the PPG Super Blue on the Reynard, below that.

That's EXCACTLY what I was thinking. Got a petty blue car here, it's not the same color. Saw a grabber blue ranchero some time ago and that is exactly that color.
