I have a 1975 String Ray coupe that has the engine, radiator and transmission removed. I was recently married and now need to sell the car/parts as I do not have the time/expertise to rebuild it.
I am curious on how much the disassembled car or parts would be worth. The frame and body are in fair condition. The engine, V8 smallblock is in good shape and the automatic transmission is new. I have about $500 in parts I purchased for it.
Can someone give me a range of its estimated worth?
If you have all the components for the car, and the engine, tranny and radiator is removed....AND all the components are functional you will likely be able to sell it "as is" for about $3000...or maybe $4000-5000, if you can convince a potential buyer that there is nothing wrong with the 'removed' components.
I think 7T1vette is feeling generous today.Your best bet is to just put the items back in and make the car run.If you dont IMO you will have to give your first born to get $5000 out of it.You'll do good to get 5 when its put back together, there are lots of deals out there.
You'd be lucky to get $2000 for a '75 disassembled, especially in this economic environment. Put it back together enough to drive or just blow it out cheap.
IMHO I think the $2K range is about right for something like you are describing, depends on the body and interior too. You can find complete running C3s that need work for $3-5K. I just saw a pretty clean '77 last week that needed some 4 speed trans work for $4,200. My son gave $2,600 for his '76 in running, but needing lots of work condition.
