Thanks for your thought and concerns. I live just south of Houston and should be safe from any flooding. And with winds only around 100MPH, hopefully there will be no damage. The Corvette is safely inside the garage and covered with a car cover.

I've got 87 year old parents and 2 sisters in NW Houston, close to Cypress, hunkering down. Don't think flooding will be a problem there but those winds are going to be scary. My folks lost their house in Punta Gorda ,Florida during Hurricane Charlie 4 years ago and we moved them to Houston to be with family so they are thinking deja vu all over again in Texas. You Houston folks take care and our prayers are with you.

Please keep my family and our home in you thoughts and prayers. We live in Seabrook, TX less than a mile from Clear Lake and Galveston Bay. May of you are seeing news reports from Reporters at Hilton hotel (Some of the side has blown off it) that is less than a mile from me. We are hearing reports of potential 6 to 12 feet of water possible in most of all the homes in our city. Storm surge up to 22ft and street level is 12 ft.

Luckily for me as many of you know my Pace Car is safe and sound at LittleJake's body shop being painted in Nashville TN.

My Family and I are safe and sound in Central Texas, but I am very worried about what we will find when we return!

It is going to be a very long night.

My daughter goes to college just north of Houston. She evacuated to home this weekend. Hopefully her apartment will survive.

Hi, I'm from central Florida and can feel your pain, we had 4 in a row hit us 4 years ago, but we all survived- please stay safe as property can be replaced, not loved ones. My prayers are with you all. -DDBS

Good luck and keep the vette safe w/ your families. Just got finished with Gustav and now flooding from Ike. The 78 is ok. and all family good. Much house damage from the wind of both storms.

I'm here in Lake Charles, LA.....southwest louisiana.....just got our power on....I think we got some steady 50-60 mph winds and some pretty hefty gusts above that....the vettes in my grandparents garage and just a few shingles off the house.

The strom wasn't that bad here in L.C. compared to hurricane rita a few years ago......but the flooding is another story around here. It's a weeker storm than Rita and hit further away than Rita, but at the same time the waters over here are up 2ft+ where Rita flooded us at. Of course lake charles is a lake and has a bunch of rivers/waterways running off from it so alot of peoples homes got flooded.

I have a cousin in Houston that works at the hobby airport and ha dto work during the storm. No word from him yet and how stuff is.

Good luck to the guys over there that got hit worse than us.....oh and the poor people in Galvaston....

I know this is super minor compared to what they have gone through down south but IKE made it to Indiana and we suffered 85MPH winds and lots of damage. 300,000 w/o electricity and they say it may be another week before we get it back on. This is the first time I have ever heard of a hurricane making it this far North.

My prayers out to those that have lost more than just power......
