Default '70 LT1 tank sticker

Do any of you LT1 owners have a copy of your tank sticker you could post for me? I'm looking for what part of the VIN number appears as well as the description of the engine option.
Thanks,
Greg

The vin will not appear on the "tank sticker" or Corvette Order Copy. It will appear on the actual Corvette Order (bottom). Below is the Order Copy of an LT-1 I use to own and a Corvette Order. The number hand written corresponds to the vin. The hand written 101 will match a vin ending 101 or 601. 601 in the case of this car.

OK, Thanks. This helps. The one I'm looking at is hard to read. The T in LT1 is fuzzy and the 370 is now a hole. There is a 110 which matches the 610 on the engine. That seems to match. I'll have to look close at the rest of the clues to be sure.

Did anyone notice that on the first ProTeam tank sheet the letters L&T are darker than the rest of the printing on the sheet? Chevrolet must have wanted to be sure that those letters would be readable for 40 years.

Alan

I wish that tank sticker was bigger and easier to read. It is not just an LT-1 but a ZR-1. That explains the different format of the tank sticker. I can't make out what the ZR-1 line says, "Special 370 HP Racing Package" maybe? The LT does appear darker, but ZR-1 is what is important on that tank sticker. I don't think any car other than a ZR-1 would be in that format.

I don't think I'd use the proteam site as a reference for documents.

Interesting. I was under the impression the hand written ,3 digit number, related to the line build. (001-999) Which is written on various places on the car.

In my case it's 303, which is also written in white pencil on the rear bulkhead forward of the fuel tank ,and also on the lower firewall beneath the metal heat shield on the passenger side. My vin is not 303

I don't know if it is true 100% of the time, but it has been the case in all that I have seen. If the vin ends 001-500 it will match the number. If the vin ends 501-999 it will match the number plus 500. With a 303 written on your tank sticker I'd expect your vin to end in 303 or 803.

Wow, you can barely make it out. DOes Turbo-fire refer to only LT1 engines?

Your right, these things are not always consistant. You did make me curious though. I dug out my tank sticker and the 303 is written there. I still believe that is the job number. They ran from 1-999 and then started over again. (according to my dobbins book)

The weird thing is I have more written numbers on my tank sticker. I've asked several NCRS people about it over the years, and never recieved an answer. I thought it was a 4 digit number 4801. After reading what you're saying, I would say that it more than likely 481, and the writer make a strange number 8. I say that because if the number is really 481 and I use your theory and add 500 it makes it 981...... bingo my vin's last 3 digits. thanks for the info

gccch,

Not specific to just LT-1. The nomenclature Turbo-Fire refers to Chevrolet's small block displacement engines. The big blocks were referred to as Turbo-Jet.
