Chrome dash? I don't think I have ever seen one of those.
yeah...i didn't quite understand this question either. however, in highschool i had a friend with a tuner car, that had a metallic silver painted dash...that lasted all of one sunny day. you have no idea what kind of glare you get off of the windshield when you do that. Now, if you're talking about the console or guage surrounds...then i suppose one of those brushed aluminum kits might be what he's looking for.
I saw a photo of the dash on a '75 and it had white faced gages ...
I like that look but mine did not come that way ...
Did they change that in later serial #'s, was it an option, or is that an after market thing?

White face gauges have not been a factory option in ANY Corvette...not even new ones.
Now, there are kits available to cover your stock faces with white overlays, you can paint them yourself, you can maybe send them to someone to paint them for you, and you can always replace all your gauges with after market gauges like Autometer white faced gauges.

now i always wondered... in the 82 the speedo only goes to 80 if you got aftermarket white faces to say... 140 and changed the speedo gear would that work out?

I like it Really the best solution, especially with red car and black interiors!!!
But I've got Bright blue interiors and aftermarket white gauges to install, so I'm thinking about another color instead stock balck (red in your pic..)...
Something like this (not bright blue, but only to give an idea) :

All those chrome pieces in your picture are stock (gauge surround, center gauge console, center shift console. The stock GM pieces are chrome under the black paint. Just strip off the paint with acetone and you are all set.
They look great ..but....how easy is "easy to work with"...
I would think you would have to pull whole dash apart ....
Yes the dash had to come out and be disassembled . I personally thought it was easy and not too much science involved.Although I didnt time it would maybe take about 1 hr to pull the dash and gauges out,1 hr to disassemble gauges from dash,30 minutes to install overlays, let them dry overnite and reinstall everything back.
my old 80 when i re-did everything before the fire. Looked pretty good for peel'n'stick from CorvetteCentral but to his their own. Im gonna go more custom this time and do it all myself.

Yes, I know that under the paint there's chrome...I've just stripped the console (Does acetone works better than paint stripper???), but It's not so smooth and shine ...I have to rechrome it
I don't know if it works better, but it works well. I used acetone when re-doing my center consoles. My shift console was flawless under the paint, the center gauge console was pitted.
