bonding adhesive ?
in] new metal on the headlight actuator support brackets, and removed
the header bar support which was rusted out and rivots pushing up on
the cowling above.
It was an easy repair per the advice of all you guys out there.
Now before I reinstall the header bar I must mock up all the components
that I removed and line every thing up to insure the bar is in place mark it ,remove it all once more and bond in the new header Whew!
Now you know where i,m at the ? is simple. Has any one thought of using 3M 5200 bonding adhesive [comes in cauking tube] it is somewhat
flexible and used in the marine industry to bond boat components.
I think the much longer working time would allow for a better reassembly
of the components verses the working time of the adhesive that I recently purchased Ecklers part no. 10703
Any thoughts on this.

Use it for fiberglass spa to pvc jet sealer. Joints haven't leaked in 20 years.
The marine industry uses it for thru hull fittings that I know of and works well for that.
Realistically, the cure time would be way too long. It might work well on the header, but I would let it sit for at least a couple weeks to cure all the way thru.
