Default recovering headliners

my wife suggested using a 'space saver bag 'to apply vacuum to my 78 vette headliners while allowing the adhesive to setup when installing new vinyl . she works in the aero-space and does this for a living. it seems to work well,,, i'll post pics as things develop. hope this helps someone.....Terry

Will the lack of air cause the glue to cure improperly?

Depends on the type of adhesive. probably not a problem as aerosol ones typically cure by evaporation. The vacuum bag might accelerate that a little, but the vacuum isn't all that low.

I think it's a pretty clever idea as long as you don't damage any of the edges of the top with the bag. Also,, don't be too generous with the adhesive or it will ooze out at the edges.
